Detoxify and rejuvenate yourself with triphala.
Today I am going to tell you about Triphala. It is the panacea for many diseases. Methodical use of triphala works like nectar. Regular use of ayurvedic remedy can detoxify and rejuvenate your body without any side effects.
Method to prepare Triphala and dosage are given at the bottom of this article but first lets read what all wonders this Triphala powder can do.
It has been said in Ayurveda that one must consume it as stated below (for 12 years continuously) for complete rejuvenation. Following are the benefits if you take it for :
1 year : feel very active.
2 years : cure all diseases.
3 years : improves eye sight.
4 years : beautiful skin.
5 years : growth of brainpower.
6 years : gain immense strength.
7 years : grey hairs turn black again.
8 years : feel like a youth again.
9 years : very strong eyesight.
10 years : sweet voice.
11 -12 years : can attain the perfection of speech means whatever the person would speak, that would become true in future.
Now lets read how to make Triphala powder ( त्रिफला चूर्ण ).
Triphala means three fruits
- Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)also known as yellow Harad ( हरड़ ) in hindi.
- Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica) also known as Baheda ( बहेड़ा ) in hindi.
- Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) also known as Aanwala ( आँवला ) in hindi.
Though Triphala powder is available in market but if you really want to rejuvenate your body then avoid buying it from the market. You must prepare it yourself at home. This powder loses its quality after four weeks so it is advisable to make it in 4 months batches.
How to make : Take the three fruits (dried), deseed and grind them separately. Sieve them using a cloth to get a fine powder. Now mix the Haritaki, Bibhitaki and Amalaki in 1:2:4 ratio. Your Triphala powder is ready.
Store it in airtight container.
How to use : Take it empty stomach with water after brushing in the morning. Do not eat anything for 1 hour after taking triphala.
Quantity : It should be taken according to your age. Which means 1 ratti for each year of your age. i.e. if you are 30 years old than you should consume 30 ratti of this powder.
1 ratti = 0.182 gm ( you can easily find ratti to gm conversion online)
Note : Triphala can cause loose motions so adjust the quantity according to whatever suits you as everybody’s has a different metabolism.
You should mix the following items in ¼ to 1/6 ratio to the triphala powder, according to the season.
Rain Rock salt
Fall Rock sugar (powdered)
Autumn Dry ginger(powdered, known as ‘Saunth’)
Winter Chhoti peepal
Important : Though it is very beneficial and there is no major side effect known but many people have different diseases nowadays so it is advisable that you must consult an ayurvedic doctor before starting this treatment.
There are one more remedy which you can take along with triphala.
In the Spring season take 15-20 new leaves of Neem. Crush them in a mortar along with 5 to 20 black peppercorns (known as Kali Mirch) ( quantity of black peppercorns can be adjusted according to your age ). Now drink it with a glass of water empty stomach in the morning for 1.5 month to purify your blood.
