People suffering from bad acne or pimples can develop low self-esteem which can lead to depression. They stop going to social events and find it difficult to be in love relationships. Pores in your skin contain oil glands. These glands make oil (sebum) that lubricates your hair and skin. Oil glands become stimulated when hormones become active and Pores become clogged if there is too much oil (sebum) and too many dead skin cells. Bacteria can then get trapped inside the pores and cause swelling and redness.

For most people, acne is gone when they grow up but some people struggle with adult acne even in their 40. There are different types of acne out of which cystic acne is the worst.


Types of Acne

blackheadsBlackheads– clogged pore that stays open and the top surface can darken.

whiteheadsWhiteheads– clogged pore which closes and bulges out from the skin.

pimplesPimples – when bacteria, oil and dead skin cells penetrate under the skin that leads to inflammation in pores and you have small red bump sometimes with a pus-filled top.
